I completely agree with you. My son is a little over 3 years now, my son did talk two much until he reached three. We figured it is because we didn't teach him too much at all. So we started teach everything we see, read books every day, talk with him every day, actively involve him in the conversation.... He picked up things really quick, in just a couple of months he can talk in sentence already.

I think just talk or read to him is not enough, the key is let him actively involved.
