install pink fiber glass insulation

My hu*****and and I plan to install the pink fiber glass insulation this weekend. It's an old house. The previous owner did not bother to install any insulation on the ceiling of the basement and crawspace. We want to install insulation to keep warm. We are not handy person. Please share your experience with us, so we will not do it wrong. Thanks!
