wait to next year

I planted 9 bags in 2012. I got only ~50 plants in the spring of 2012. I left them there to have flower and seed. In the spring of 2013, there are plants everywhere, at least a couple thousands. I am not sure it is originated from the seeds left from 2012 or the seeds  grown from these few plants.
