Huh, my Camry replaced transmission within first 3000 miles!

I almost had to resort to the Lemon Law (lived in Texas at the time). The car had been out of service for a total of 45 days in the first 6 months I owned it brand new.

It had exactly the same problems like your X5. I first noticed it when it had only 800 miles on it. The dealer said I was not acustom to Japanese car - slow pick up of speed ... Then it started having those problems, even unengaged gear ...

Computer problems, electrode problems, the dealer changed this and that many times but the problems got worse. It was an automatic with the 4th speed. It would suddenly lost the 4th speed on the Freeway and slipped to 3rd speed. They replaced all the electronics and it only worked for a month or so.

Then one morning when I was on the way to office, the car simply stuck at 2nd gear. Luckily I was not on the freeway.

Long story short, we left the car at the dealership and went on a vacation. The distributor Gulf States Toyota and the dealer together decided they needed to open the transmission to check and guess what they found? Hairline cracks! So at 3000 miles, the Camry got a new transmission!
