It is ok to leave the red mulch in the garden.  Next time, get pine needle or hardwood mulch like cypress or cedar.  Stay away from pine mulch because termites like pine.  If you are truly concerned, you should get the pest control company to service your house periodically especially if you live in hot and humid area.
