My dad worked at a university for 10 year as a research scientist. He retired here, then went back to China to work. His income was not high in US, and he did not work as long as lot of us did.
The medicare was around 100, not it's higer (maybe 120 or so). The price vary depend on when you join the system. In my mom's case, it eats up a good bit, since my mom only have half of what my dad has. And my mom apply at 62 and half which is early retirement.
For our case, we would be able to get much higer SS income, so medicare will not seem as high as for my parent.
