Steps to Restore from iCloud Backup
-
Prepare Your OLD UNUSED iPhone:
-
If your iPhone is already set up, you need to erase all its content. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. This will reset your device to factory settings, allowing you to start the setup process anew.
-
Turn On Your iPhone:
-
After erasing, turn on your iPhone. You should see the Hello screen. Follow the on-screen setup steps until you reach the Apps & Data screen.
-
Select Restore from iCloud Backup:
-
On the Apps & Data screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup. You will be prompted to sign in with your Apple ID and password.
-
Choose a Backup:
-
After signing in, you will see a list of available backups. Look at the date and size of each backup to choose the most relevant one. Tap on the backup you want to restore.
-
Wait for the Restore Process:
-
The restoration process will begin. Stay connected to Wi-Fi and wait for the progress bar to complete. Depending on the size of the backup and your internet speed, this may take some time. Your iPhone will restart once the download is complete.
-
Complete the Setup:
-
After the restore is finished, you may need to sign in with your Apple ID to restore your apps and purchases. Keep your device connected to Wi-Fi to allow any remaining content to download in the background.
