Campuses Scheduled for Closure

The following campuses are slated to cease operations after Spring 2027:

• Penn State DuBois

• Penn State Fayette

• Penn State Mont Alto

• Penn State New Kensington

• Penn State Shenango

• Penn State Wilkes-Barre

These campuses collectively enroll just over 3,000 students, representing less than 4% of the universitys total student body. AP News

Reasons for Closure

University President Neeli Bendapudi cited declining birth rates and college enrollments nationwide as primary factors necessitating the closures.
