这一辈子过得不算差。。。

走过很多坎坷，经历过贫穷自卑，靠自己奋斗走出来，不负所学，为理想奋斗一辈子。。。我的诗和远方不是种菜和钓鱼，那是hobby。诗和远方是搞药：看过无数农村人的生老病死，无药可医，一直有这个志向。我是高中生物老师的骄傲，因为我读了生物，是他的得意门生，所以他帮过我大忙----没上大学的妹妹回乡做民办老师，内招斗不过开后门的人，读大学时我找他，他主管县里的文教，发火了：全县第二名，招30个上师专，居然被挤掉，那还考啥。。。

我的朋友同学群里，有此志向的人很多很多。在现今向钱看的潮流里，还是一股难得的清流。我比他们困难一些，因为我一直是千老博士后。不是做生物的都能走上找药这条路的。我一直到2000前后才从理论研究走上这条路。。。

有过经费断档了丢工作的时候；有过project被学生抢走的时候；有过拿到公司offer，被老板挽留，老板却没法match公司的工资的时候；有过为孩子上大学学费难凑的时候；有过父母需要资助，我得东凑西借的时候。。。好在2000年后不久搞明白了美国personal finance的基本原理和taxation的基本逻辑，照着“Millionaire Next Door”的思维，20年无脑投资退休账户，挤出每分钱投股市，直到最近五年意思到离退休太近，慢慢退出来。。。20年时间，把早退休的梦想变成了可兑现的承诺，交给领导。。。

上对父母老师导师，中对兄弟姐妹，下对子女，我都敢说没辜负他们。。。领导么，苦也确实吃了，不过也承认是自己的选择，没啥后悔的。我也没骗过她，无非就是一路走来我画了一个又一个大饼。。。

我自己退休前两大任务：能看到儿女安顿好我就可以安心了。他们有权选择他们的生活方式，我就希望他们有个房子。。。所以，给领导说：你想退休就退休。我可能还混几年，挣的钱，一半我们过日子，一半给孩子们。。。

 

但愿还有十年的经费。昨天看到一个网上的chatroom，里面很多病人和领域里的人对话和讨论，都是：不能等临床经验十年的时间，有foundation的人说和我老板联系了，告知那些经费可以申请；有芝加哥大学的研究小组自己搞出来的乳腺癌organoid 模型，通知我们和Bayer可以免费试用，如果有效会加快Bayer的临床试验步伐。。。
