with exceptions, it all depends how well you run. Business is business, For instance, for financial professionals, wall street job pay better than other places. Some individual docs work for free in hospitals, as they have more than enough private business. They just need retirement and insurance benefit. Some path guys are doing pretty good in term of business. Some GI or anesth guys even refuse pts as they just pick certain insurance company. But the life style mayn't be better even though they may double, even triple the income of their peers in the midwest, that is the point I was saying.
