It is a small case, no worry!

The worst can happen to you is that seller sue you in the small claim court; as you said, it is only $2000, not a big deal. Seller might calm down after a few days, and decide it is not worth it ot go to court.

Most likely you will go to arbitration panel with local real estate board, let them decide the issue.

The best thing is to let your agent handle with seller's agent in a more professional way. They are more objective and less emotional than the seller.

Often this issue an be settled easily. So there is no need to worry. Let time do the healing.
