Internal parts are all made of other metals harder than gold right, and they are less stable so that there is a galvanic effect accelerating corrosion. When the rust comes out, the gold fixture is all covered by hard to remove staining. The cold/hot water valve is a ceramic ball, which wears gold down extremely fast. Yes, gold can be used for decoration, but not for any functional parts.
