Commuters posted incredible pictures of waters cascading down the Cleveland Park DC Metro station during severe weather on Tuesday 

Many took off their shoes as they climbed the escalators - that had been turned into waterfalls

 

The station was closed for two hours as staff tried to clear away the damage. The floods took as storms bombarded the Washington DC suburbs and parts of Maryland
