How to get the best deals at Macy's?

Thanks in advance for your experience or tips.
I see they have coupons coming out in the Sunday papers that advertise 20% off clothing purchase before a certain time of the day.  Are those worthwhile? 
Or maybe check out their clearance aisles? 
Their stuff at regular price are quite expensive.
