burning mark on the vinyl floor

Hi, I rent a condo. I am moving soon. By accident, I left a burning mark (
about 8 - 10 inches)  on the vinyl floor in bathroom (also a laundry room).

I asked a handy man and he told me that if I have matching vinyl floor piece
he can fix it for $120.

The condo was built in 1977. The floor never changed since then. I am not
able to find matching vinyl floor sheet from Lowe's. The owner told me that
he is willing to split the cost with me to change the whole bathroom floor. 

I thought maybe I can borrow a piece of matching vinyl sheet from under the
washer/dryer, and put a new mismatching one under there.

Or if the owner wants to update the whole bathroom, I can contribute $120
and he can do whatever he wants.

What is a fair way to solve the problem?
