Here is the link of some activities in Alaska, but it is still need to take a boat.  I am told this is the best tour and it is out of Seward, so maybe a 1 night stay at a hotel down there as well.

Other suggestions from asking around: Spend a day driving to Palmer and do the Reindeer farm and the Musk Ox farm keep driving to the Matanuska Glacier and then back to town (lots of different views on the way).There are a few downtown tours – historical and ghost hunting. Also check Alaska Railroad – they go to Denali Park, Whittier, or Seward. There are also bus tours to Denali and thru it. The wildlife center at the back end of Eagle River.
Native Heritage Center north of Muldoon on the east end of town. Gold Mining down in Indian – south end of town. The museum next to 5^th Ave Mall is worth a walk thru, lots of cultural stuff upstairs.
The Chinese restaurants are not that great here due to lack of Chineses, but the weather is good now - temperature 59F today.

I don't know much about cruise lines and visa issue.
