In general, shop or repair company does not follow up for a final check before warranty ends. but if you found the problem happens again within warranty period, they are responsible to fix for you.
Even it is true that the problem was not fixed last year, it is hard to convince them. Therefore I don't think there is much you can do for the service you called last year.
If you have a service this time, check and see how it works after it is serviced, and make sure the problem is really solved before warranty ends. I think this is the only thing you can do.
