You better fixed the door and raise it back to the level before.  If you really need a easy fix just lower the strike rather than raise the latch/bolt providing the door does not stick to the frames.  Here is the glossary of a lock:http://www.kwikset.com/How-To-Choose/Glossary.aspx.
