Per New California Law SB 183 - Two carbon monixide detectors were installed on 7/8/11. It is the landlord's responsibility to ensure installation of the detectors.  It is the responsibility of the current tenant(s) to inform the landlord of any malfunctions of the detectors. The detectores installed are the property of the landlord and they shall remain with the property in working condition. The tenant(s) shall be responsible for cost of the replacement if detectors are missing or damaged excep for manufacturer's defect.
