RE: Q on Cleaning the toilet bowl

I want to clean the toilet bowl really well.  The toilet bowl has quite some water in it.  How do I get rid of the water,so I can pour some chemical into the bowl to make it more effective without water dilution?  Is that possible for me to shut off the in-water valve to the toilet, and then flush the toilet?
