U of Chicago area school district for 2nd grader, thanks

Hi, We will move to Chicago this summer for my hu*****and's fellowship in the Medical School of UofChicago. We have one 1st grader boy and a newborn girl. We are thinking to live close to the hospital while we need to find a good public school of our boy. Can anyone kindly give us some suggestions about housing and school district there? We checked lab school, but it is too expensive and hardly to be admitted. In addition, any good nanny for recommndation?
