RE: Vacuum cleaning on/off button problem

My vacuum cleaner's on/off button does not work anymore.  So when I use the vacuum cleaner, I plug into the electric outlet.  And when I want to turn it off, I unplug the cord off the electric outlet.  Is there any way to fix the on/off button?  I have a Kenmore.
