using blackberry in china

Hello XDJM, I'm leaving for china shortly and will need to use blackberry (with AT&T). Anyone has experience to share? email account still works, getting new message in and sending out reply? signal strength, coverage? how to dial out from within china? because I need incoming calls roamed to the phone so I'd have to keep original number (sim card). and rate/charges? Certainly i'll try to get info from AT&T but still wants to get input from real users. Thanks so much..
