In 金色风铃’s story, if the mother had apologized, definitely not legally sued the son, perhaps the son could have agreed to somewhat support her. Now it’s in the legal process and moral court of public, it’s not easy for the son to do anything.

In 张磊捐款’s case, sure, it’s his freedom and right to do what he wanted. But if he had ever considered, even a bit, about his home country, where he also received education (for over a decade), where he did (may be still doing) his money making business, he could have also made some generous gesture. It’s a question of EQ. People have feeling. Haha… (Personally I don’t understand why some people feel so intensely that China owes them so much after benefiting from that country as more privileged people than others, esp. the country has been struggling itself.)
