什麼是社會安全生活補助金SSI？
SSI即社會安全生活補助金，是一個每個月對需
要者提供現金補助的聯邦計劃。SSI是給與65歲或
以上者，以及任何年齡的失明或殘障者，包括兒童
的補助。

您必須是低收入或無收入，以及低財力者才能
符合領取補助資格。如果是單身，擁有的資產價值
必須低於2,000美元；如果已婚，則必須低於3,000美
元。您所住房屋的價值不計算在內。通常，汽車的
價值不計算在內。

如要領取SSI，還必須申請所有能夠獲得的任何
其它現金福利。
必須是居住在美國或北瑪利安納群島
(NorthernMarianaIslands)的居民才能領取SSI。如果
不是美國公民但居住在美國，您也可能領取SSI。如
需更多資訊，請索取非公民的社會安全生活補助金
（出版編號05-11051-CH）。
加州在聯邦補助之外附加了一筆州政府的補助
金額。當每個月的月初領取補助金時，其中包括聯
邦社會安全生活補助SSI的金額和加州的補助金
額。
醫療上的援助
如果領取SSI，通常都能夠自動得到醫療補助
（Medi-Cal）。而不必單獨再填寫醫療補助 Medi-
Cal的申請表。如果對醫療補助 Medi-Cal 有任何疑
問，請與當地的縣社會服務部福利辦公室聯絡。
食物券
在加州領取SSI者不能領取食物券，因為加州
在聯邦的SSI補助上已經附加了一筆金額。
但是，您能夠在下述情況下獲得食物券：
已經申請並正等待SSI的申請結果時；

一旦搬遷到另一個州。
