I bought metlife term life insurance recently. When I received it, there is a notice with it, which is required by NJ law. It says that if the life insurance is licensed in NJ, then all other members will cover the life insurance if this insurance company bankrupted.
To be safe, I checked the government website, and found out several metlife companies have the licences there, including metlife, metlife connecticut. But the one the agent selected for me is not included, which is metlife investor USA. I called the agent, she told me that all metlife insurance companies in NJ have licenses here, otherwise they are not allowed to do business here.
However, I do not believe what she told me. Anyone knows?
thanks,
