Sorry to be so straight. Once you give the money to somebody, it belongs to that person. Your parents-in-law are the ones who are the beneficiaries, if without a Will. I won't think about those money anymore.

Also, your hu*****and cannot take care of his parents physically on a regular basis. If extra money can make your in-laws happy, then just let it be. We're [relatively] young and have opportunity to make more money. For parents, they need some cash reserve to feel safe.
