Like the other folks recommended, there are several alternatives you can work out a solution to fit you. The current situation is actually not so bad and the bottom line is both of you live together. My recommendation to you is to be part of the solution, do your wifely best to help him understand what you need from him, to succeed him in his education in the US first. Don’t give up. He just needs to get over the hump and so do you.

It seem you don’t have a lot, but if you have each other, that’s more than enough. And you have many of us behind you.
