Downingtown area is good. Both Downingtown and Collegeville have relatively newly constructed community. Downingtown school district is good (although not as good as lower merion, TE, radnor as others posted before) and you don't need to worry about the nuclear power plant. But it's a long commute for you. Each morning highways are jammed to north-east direction. you have to avoid the peak hour to have a easier commute.

The traditional MAINLINE area (radnor, TE, lower merion.... along regional rail R5) is still the best place to live. you can check the map, it's route 30
