leather sofa

Hi:

We are looking for a set of sofa. We would like to buy leather ones, since we have a 2-year old girl. Most of the leather sofas are in dark color, which does not match our room (white wall and white oak hardwood floor).

I wonder why that is the case, and is it also more difficult to clean the light color sofa than dark one?
