Thanks for looking over my work,

First of all, the river where I live nearby does flow back at the high tide. And it has nothing to do with any government propaganda by simply stating an obvious fact. Don't you know the song "River of no return" by Marilyn Monroe? I was stressing the similarity between time and river flow. Nevertheless, I strongly believe the original Chinese writing was for a propaganda purpose.

Second, I did not deviate from the original writing and by that I mean I absolutely do not have to stick to it sentence by sentence, or as suggested, words by words, if I can find better ways to convey the original idea carried by the writing. Because translation is never 100% and strongly depends on the context. And just for one example, epic is closer to legend than myth.

And I understand that a lot of Chinese idioms are used metaphorically and are difficult to translate, the same to a lot of English idioms. And I know 沧桑变迁 is literally landscape changing - changing from sea to dry land, however, which means more literally than just great changes. That was why I left it there. The same are to 元明的风 and 满清的雨, literal translation makes it a joke.

regards
