再问两个字，老师们帮我看看是中性还是贬义词呢？谢谢

1） While been asked if he knew Ms A before the accident, Mr Robert denied.

2) Mr Robert claimed he did not meet Ms A on 2 July 2011.


请问1）denied 和 2) claimed 是中性词还是贬义词？

我的意思是我用这个字并不代表我不相信他的话。可是我的句子里这两个字被改掉。说是避免放入我们自己的的判断。好像我很objectively don't trust what Mr Robert said 这样子的意思。


我怎么一直觉得这两字很中立没有那个意思呢。 谢谢老师们解答。 ：）
