EXAM: MR LUMBAR SPINE WITHOUT CONTRAST

CLINICAL INDICATION: Low back pain and left buttock pain

TECHNIQUE: MRI of the lumbar spine was performed without intravenous gadoliniumCOMPARISON: MRI lumbosacral spine 1/9/2013

FINDINGS:

Numbering: Last fully formed disc space is designated L5-S1

Discs: There is mild diminished signal intensity from the L4-5 and L5-S1 disk cartilages

Spinal Cord: Conus is normal and terminates at the T12-L1 level

T12-L1: No disc disease, spinal stenosis or foraminal stenosis.

L1-L2: No disc disease. spinal stenosis or foraminal stenosis

L2-L3: No disc disease. spinal stenosis or foraminal stenosis.

L3-L4: No disc disease. spinal stenosis or foraminal stenosis

L4-L5: Very mild bulge of the annulus fibrosis with midline annular fissure unchanged from the previous comparison study.

Canal stenosis is not present.

221: Midine annular fissure seen previously has resolved. There is a minimal bulge of the annulus fibrosis without canal

Other: There is a very small lower sacral Tarlov cyst probably of no signifeance.

IMPRESSION:

Mild persistent degenerative disk change at L4-5 and L5-s1 without canal or foramen stenosis. There is a persistent

midline annular fissure at L4.5

Evidence of lumbar disk herniation, spinal canal stenosis or neural foramen not found
