In this show, Sex and the city, sex is just the stunt. Deep down, it’s still about love. Four modern cosmopolitan women set off to seek true love or true self by exploring the various human relationship and emotions on their journey, which have a wide spectrum covering all those hot and ever lasting topics that always perplex and excite us at the same time: marriage, divorce, pregnancy, honesty, fidelity and commitment.
It is not a traditional Doctor Queen show (what “Doctor Queen” did in her times was also considered appalling and rebellious :)), not a Little Women show. But basically they are discussing the same thing about women role options in sex, marriage and society.
Sex and the city is a just updated version of Little Women about what women will do, what choices they can make, what new problems will arise or what clashes they will have against the traditional male-dominated world when women have more sexual freedom, more opportunity and more ability to be successful in the modern society.
In a word, it is new fancy bottle that still holds the old wine. :)
