Regarding [1], I agree that "to meet your need" is a safer choice. However, it is not as interesting or fresh to me - you see, I wanted to "make new sentences", which includes using unfamiliar words and phrases. That's why I tried to use "to suit your needs".

After reading your reply, I looked up the Oxford Advanced Learner's English-Chinese Dictionary (6th Ed.) and found the following example in the entry "suit":
Choose a computer to suit your particular needs.
This seems to validate my usage in the article. What do you think?

Regarding [2], I wanted to express something subtle. Mei is amiable and does not tend to argue with me. That's why she said "Okay" although she did not tatally agree with me. In the end, I had some doubts in my own reasoning and logic and did not try to convince her. I thought this could be conveyed by writing "In the end, I did not convince her." Is this too vague or unclear?

Thanks again for your reply. I cherish the opportunity to discuss these fine details with learned people. I hope that I do not sound defensive to you :)
