部分原因如下：

当别人和你打招呼时
（1）how do you do？
（2) how are you？
（3) how are you doing？

A）其实别人是想了解一下你的近况，大致可以改用过去时态。

B）就算有人或在某些场合需要你说出当前的感受，那"进行时"（3）可以代替。

C）似乎讲法（1）已retired, （2）and (3) still working。

D) (3) looks younger than (2), and is preferred by some people.

E) “过去”，“将来”都代表大段时间，惟有“现在”是一个瞬时，由“进行时“替代 perfectly acceptable.
