In Africa, no animal dies at old age, most of them were eliminated in the Race of life after passing the peak of their lives.
All creatures are equal, herbivores have to learn to run in a couple of hours after birth and run for the rest of their days of life to escape from being hunted down. Predators have to run in their days of life to hunt their food. The roles of prey or preyer can also change, the hunters in one case can become the hunted in other cases . For instances, cheetah, one of the most successful large predators, only a tenth of the cubs can make their adulthood; lion, the top predator, only one fifth of the male cubs can grow up to full maturity, either die from starvation or being eliminated by the competitors including the adults of their own kinds.
It is nothing right or wrong about killing or being killed , it is all about survival. The number of a large wildebeest herd can be a million strong, wildebeests eat tall grass like a lawn mower cutting the grass to a certain height, and they often team up with zebras who like the lower grass behind wildebeests, zebras will strip the grass all the way down to soil.
