So in the folowing citations people all mistakingly misplace R for L?
"All I can say is “DOUCHE BAG”. If a player hits you clean and is clearly wobbled after it, you don’t drop the groves and fight the guy. I know he got an extra two for the fight, but what he really should have gotten was an extra 30 seconds with Brian McGrattan." ----https://ianesplencanucks.wordpress.com/tag/reto-berra/
"You think Fraser is worse, obviously MacT thinks otherwise. Fraser not only will hit, he will drop the groves and stand up for his teammates. How many time did Fistric drop the gloves to protect his kids? If you have to choose between Mike Brown and Fraser, who would you rather have? Both the Oilers and the Sharks have to give a 4th rounder to get Mike Brown, do you think any team will give a 4th rounder for Fistric?" --

"I just don't understand why Kesler still dives when he knows that he already has that reputation.....if order to get rid of the diver, yapper label, Kelser needs to drop the groves and fights some tough guys more often, until then, he is just a diver and can't back up his yapping on the ice... "

I can cite 10~20 convresations on the internet in that ice hockey fans talkied using this phrase.
It was a huge confusion for me: if this is a widely used phrase an idiom or phrase dictionary should have entry for it but here is not. On the other hand some people do use this phrase in their conversations.
In the situation like this I use my intuition: understand this through the conversations and use my knowledge to try to make sense of it. I could be far off though because people may still misspell even they are using their native language.
It is an interesting topic and I thank for your comment.
