对小钊的回应，并等待他的好作品

因本人不喜欢跟人争论，加上最近很忙，所以本不想对小钊的点评作出具体回应。 Plumber要明天才来，他不来我也做不了什么，今天仔细看了一下小钊的点评，在此作一个简略回应。同时，我还在等待小钊的翻译佳作，希望他不要保守。

小钊点评： 第二段：“就美而言，自然优于打扮，端庄、优雅胜于自然。此系美中极品”，原文motion一词应该指的是言谈举止，而不只是气质的“端庄、优雅”，这就是为什么下文说画不出来，如果仅是端庄优雅的气质，还是能画出来的。“美中极品”也不妥，意思应该是“美之要旨所在”。

聚曦亭说明：真是如此！我们平时常说“举止端庄、优雅”，端庄与优雅正是跟举止搭配的。

 

小钊点评： 第三段：“大美者，其骨骼比例自有某些特征”，“某些特征”不妥，因为特征在中文里意思并不是“特别的征象”，而是feature，原文是指由有异于常人之处、异象。

聚曦亭说明：proportion当然指人体的比例。西方绘画讲究解剖与透视法，所以这里用“骨骼比例”非常恰当。

 

小钊点评：第三段：“此非意指画工无法画出前所未有之好像”，这一句中文读起来有歧义，好像是画工的作品比以前的作品都好，其实原文意思是“画像并非不能胜于本人”。

聚曦亭说明：此两人所追求的就是“前所未有之好像”（to make one excellent）

 

小钊点评： 第四段：“容貌，分而察之，难以悦目；合而观之，却能赏心。”，原文并不是泛指，而是指有些容貌（A man shall see faces你会看到有些脸是这种情况，世间几多容貌），译文变成泛称所有容貌，道理上就讲不通了，因为并不是所有容貌都是分而察之，一无是处。

聚曦亭说明：当然是泛指，所以用A man shall see faces，不带定冠词，不然就要用 the faces!

 

小钊点评： 第四段："若美貌实出于端庄，温文尔雅之气质随年岁倍增则不足为奇"，对motion的理解，见1。

小钊点评： 第五段：“老年出格”，out of countenance意思和“出格”相反。

聚曦亭说明：小钊看走了眼，countenance在这里不作“面容”解，而作Obsolete . bearing; behavior解，所以译作“出格”。见www.dictionary.com第五条。
