My God; My Gosh,  My Goodness,,,,,,

天那, 我的天那 ~! 我的地那 ~!

Why do you say 'oh my gosh' instead of 'oh my god' ?

some people can be offended when you say oh my god, because not every one believes on that same god. originally people would say oh god, but since in the us there is some many different people, cultures, and religions, it evolve into o my god. also in some religion it is banned to say the name of god in vane so they change it to o my gosh which is somehow different but does not have a specific meaning. it is just used to not offend others.

My goodness is a bit more polite and formal but

the meaning of the phrases is the same.

 ¡Dios mío!

Thank goodness your plane was okay and probably with an even bigger appreciation for ....
