First the 菇种, which most likely to be mycelium, shouldn't be （臭臭的）so your mycelium might go to bad. Second, you can not use the wood from homedepot because they are either pretreated with chemicals or dried wood. An analogy to your case as if you were trying to grow bamboo shoots using chopsticks in a concrete plot.
