【边走边记】学潜水（2）

Saturday morning.

The sun was already over the horizon, shines cut through the palm trees.
Along the shore, sea breeze carries tropical moisture,
touches my skin and soothes my mind.

A speedboat was silently moored at the pier, which made me trembling with excitement.
I knew we were going out shortly to the open sea and dive beneath the national marine park,
where coral reefs are well preserved.

My class has 8 students, one head coach, and one assistant coach. It is actually a quite good  representation of United Nations: three Aussies, one American, one French, one Columbian, one Venezuelan, and myself. The head coach is a Canadian lady while the assitant is a lovely guest student from Britain, with a petite nose and demure presence.

A little over 20 feet under the sea, the world is dazzlingly beautiful.
Corel reefs have all kinds of colors, spreading over the hilly bottom.
Some small ones look like exquisite Bonsai(盆景), others are big and round clinging fast to the rocks, carved like big fat human brain. Tropical fishes swim through unknow plants, Bonsais, and around us.

I simply followed the school of divers,
yet my eyes were greedily busy on the scenes along the route.
Head coach loosely picked up a sea cucumber or slug, big and fat. She played it around, then passed it among us to have a touch and feel. An aussie MM caught a pink sea eel. The eel is small and cute, swims slowly and gracefully. I reckened it must be a baby eel.

One of my biggest discoveries was to spot a big, sea urchin-like creature. An immediate sensation arosed in my mind, I had to admit that I related it to a delicate sea food: a delight urge to cut a piece off the top, squeeze a little lemon over the soft, salmon-coloured flesh, immerse it with white wine.

On the way back to our boat, I could not help picking up a piece of elegant coral reef,
hoping that this little bounty could be my souvenir. My teacher shaked her head in responding
my inquiring signals about this bounty.

I  do not know how many moments I wish I had an underwater camera at hand!
