huh? dumpling is a whole different thing.

please at least google and find out what dumpling really is.

have you ever heard someone call sushi japanese rice ball? or sashimi japanese fish salad? or kimchi korean pickles? boudain would be cajun french style rice sausage? or salami italian dry sausage?

why can't we confidently say this is jiaozi. you don't have confidence in claiming your uniqueness, then you can't hold on to what's true in your food.

this is the exact thinking that puts chinese food at the bottom of the restaurant business. that's why chinese takeout equals cheap greasy crap fat people munch on when they are depressed, while japanese food stays at the top of the chain and reap the thick profit on their essentially uncooked food.
