1. QUANTIFERON -TB BLOOD TEST: It is not the standard care now. It is still experimental and has no established correlation with active TB as a infection yet.
Do you know what it tests? It surposed to test present of antigen from Mycobacterium tuberculosis which causes human TB infection. BCG uses reduced bacteria conponents from Mycobacterium bovis. Because of the common antigen between those 2 (at least 2) bacterias, our immune system can effectively against the TB infection. That is why we use BCG. Alrhough ELISA used in QUANTIFERON is specific, there is indeed cross reaction. It is not recommended as standard practice yet.
2. 医生说注射过BCG疫苗的,以后再怎么做TB皮试都会是呈阳性: s/he is so wrong! You are not going to get a positive skin test if you are immune compromised.
3. 我们那里的医生没有给我任何治疗措施: S/he could be wrong and doing harm to you if there is no further exam performed. Positive PPD is not TB infection. TB infection does not have to have positive PPD. Physician should treat infection by TB, not a positive TB/PPD test. The less harmful standard care for people with positive PPD and who had BCG is to ask for TB symptoms AND get a chest x-ray film. If no symptom and negative CXR, then your 医生could 没有给我任何治疗措施.
4. By the way, if you are in medicine, do not call it a "false positive" -- it does what it surposed to do and it does not tell you that you are having TB infection. It is not intended that way. For lay people, that is OK, though.
