Coronavirus
Just so you know! My son on a visit to Iran returned via Italy and Spain. Just to get a reservation to get out was in itself a miracle! While we were worried sick, he landed in LAX expecting to be quarantined. The passport officer said "welcome home" and let him through, ignoring his responsible warning where he has been overseas. At the custom he had nothing to declare but stopped to say where he has come from. They motioned him on to pass! My son would not let his octogenarian father, me, to pick him up; took a shuttle and came at our house where we put him in a secluded bedroom. For the past 8 days we have tried to have him tested to no avail.
UCXX, Sxxxxx and Xxxxxx could not help but referred us to X Y Health Department where they told us to contact the county health people. We did and all they could do was to refer us to CDC web site. The site was quite useless as far as getting any help for the required test was concerned. In the meantime from the President down to the Vice and other official were advising "nothing to worry about and you can get beautiful tested immediately" anywhere we like". The more responsible public servants of CDC and others were, in the meantime, looking on baffled by the President's statements. Take it from our experience; you cannot get tested anywhere in the X Y area. We heard from friends elsewhere in California that all Americans returning from the virus affected countries; were released to care for themselves; if they felt as responsible as we have been. Others may have gone to their work place not knowing that they might have been the victim of this dreadful virus and thus possibly propagating it to the general public. If the plight becomes pandemic in the country; we know who to blame.
