请教一个大问题

我的W2上的第一项 Wages， tips，etc. 就是我的实际工资。我怎么一直以为在交了401K之后 （交满了）， 这个数字得少很多才行呀。 一前好像重来没有是实工资得，老公的W2也没有。怎么回事呀，得交好多税呀。 谢谢。
