早晨看到一个你关于FIREPLACE HEARTH的贴子, 因为白天没时间回, 现在把我知道的情况告诉你, 希望你对有帮助.
我假设你的房子是在北美.

IBC CODE 规定, FIREPLACE前必须要有HEARTH. 

The minimum thickness of fireplace hearths shall be 4 inches, Hearth extensions shall extend at least 16 inches in front of,and at least8 inches beyond, each side of the fire place opening. and to constructed of concrete or masonry, supported by noncombustible materials, and reinforced to carry their own weight and all imposed loads.

你那张照片上的REBAR就是FIREPLACE HEARTH所需的钢筋.
