Just like seeing a doctor, not every doctor is for you. You always need to find some one you feel comfortable to work with.
Yes, they charge commssions, this is how they make living. No profession would exist without making money.
But, actually, if you dig deeper, you would find those mutual fund you bought from the market would not be cheaper at all.
Yes, you may beat them for certain years, but if you always beat them, I would suggest you switch your profession to financial advisor yourself.
Frankly, this is a bit of misleading.
