English for "桥本甲状腺炎"

A friend was diagnosed with hyper throid (jia kang) years ago.  And then after she adjusted her mood and reduced stress, her test results returned to normal.  One of the doctors said she is "桥本".

What does that mean? And what is the English for "桥本甲状腺炎"?  Is this one type of jia kang?
