请教关于眼睛黄斑区域充血

国内亲戚，女，50多岁，最近注意到左眼视力急剧下降，看了医生说是黄斑区域充血，现在吃药。请问这个跟黄斑病变是不是一回事？北美有没有什么好的supplement可以帮助控制病情，让情况有所好转？
